Za’atar Chicken Tango Salad
In order to nourish ourselves well, we need to eat plenty of vegetables on a daily basis.
And leafy greens are especially important, as they’ve been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease, certain cancers, macular degeneration, and type 2 diabetes. In fact, a CDC study found that 17 of the 20 most nutrient dense veggies were leafy greens.
But who has time to wash, cut & prep all those veggies every day?
And that’s one reason we love Trader Joe’s salad kits. They’ve done the prep work for us, so all we need to do is add some protein to create a healthy well-balanced meal.
The A Za’atar Tango Salad Kit is one of our favorites. The Middle Eastern flavors, creamy cucumber yogurt dressing and za-atar seasoned flatbread strips make a delicious & refreshing meal any night of the week.
Makes 2 servings
All ingredients purchased @ Trader Joe's
1 package A Za’atar Tango Salad Kit
½ package (6 oz.) Organic Grilled Chicken Breast, diced
optional: extra veggies such as cherry tomatoes, Persian cucumber or diced bell pepper
Open the salad kit and set aside the packets of dressing & toppings.
Pour the greens into a large bowl. Add the diced chicken, any optional veggies, and the dressing. Toss well.
Divide onto two plates and add half the toppings to each serving. Enjoy!
- If cooking for one: We like the “cook once, eat twice” method! Prepare two servings today, and you have a meal ready for tomorrow.
- Before adding the dressing, place half the veggies in an airtight container and store in the fridge.
- Pour half the dressing & half the toppings into small containers. Add to second portion just before eating.
