Open Face Tuna Salad Sandwich with Side Salad


Trader Joe’s Homestyle Tuna Salad is well-named. It really does taste like you made it at home! The texture is rich & creamy, but it also has a nice crunch from the celery & green onions.

And don’t be put off that it comes from the prepared foods section. You can make healthy meals from many of Trader Joe’s prepared foods – as long as you know what to look for, what to add to it, and how many portions to make.

In this recipe we use half the container and combine it with veggies & whole grain bread for a high-protein, well-balanced meal that’s quick & simple to make.



Makes 1 serving
All ingredients purchased @ Trader Joe's



  • 1 slice Organic Ancient Grain & Seed Bread, toasted

  • ½ container Homestyle Tuna Salad

  • ¼ jar fire roasted peppers, diced

  • ¼ bag Power to the Greens

  • 1 tablespoon Glaze



  1. Toast the bread.

  2. Place the tuna in a bowl and mix in the red peppers.

  3. Spread some of the tuna-pepper mixture on the toast.

  4. Add the greens & Glaze to the tuna-pepper mixture and stir well.

  5. Enjoy the open-face sandwich with the side salad.
